Piston / Cylinder Sets
The piston/cylinder sets, customizable to specific customer requirements, consist of a combination of a graphite piston and a borosilicate glass cylinder, with each piston precisely matched to its corresponding cylinder with minimal clearance.
These sets offer exceptionally low friction values and respond even under loads of just a few grams or pressures below 0.2 psi. Static and dynamic friction are identical, preventing sudden or uncontrolled start-up and ensuring smooth, consistent motion throughout the entire piston stroke. Airpot piston/cylinder sets are resistant to extreme temperature fluctuations and operate cleanly, meaning surrounding components are not exposed to contamination. No seals are required, and there are no fluids that could leak. The materials used are self-lubricating and achieve extremely high cycle rates. They do not heat up and show no significant changes even under rapid or continuous load variations. Their service life extends to several million cycles.
